Nous n'avions pas initialement prévu d'aller à Bora Bora car cette île est surtout celle des grands hôtels et du coup certains disent qu'elle manque d'authenticité, mais pour des raisons pratiques concernant le billet Pass, nous y avons fait escale pour 2 nuits.
En arrivant en avion, bien qu'il y ait quelques nuages, on admire le magnifique lagon, un des plus beaux, le plus beau du monde, dit-on. Ici l'avion atterrit sur un motu et on est acheminé par bateau sur l'île principale. Nous avons logé dans un petit appart sympa tout au bord de l'eau avec un petit ponton devant où Alain se régalait à donner des miettes de pain aux poissons colorés qui se manifestent dès qu'il y a à manger. Nous sommes allés nous promener en vélo jusqu'à la fameuse plage de Matira où il a fait une bonne averse, heureusement que nous avons pu nous abriter en buvant un café dans le snack !
La plage est belle, très belle et les couleurs ont varié pendant tout le temps que nous y étions selon la couleur du ciel qui était d'abord orageux et ensuite ensoleillé. C'était magnifique, j'ai contemplé une bonne partie de l'après-midi pendant que les garçons faisaient du snorkelling et s'éclataient à voir encore des raies pastenagues. J'espère que vous aimerez les photos autant que j'ai aimé absorber toute la beauté du lieu.
We had not initially planned to visit Bora Bora as this island is mainly home to large and fancy hôtels which are not quite our thing, and some say that it lacks authenticity as a result. However for practical reasons, due to our island Pass, we stayed there for 2 nights.
From the plane, despite the cloudy weather, we admired the view of the amazing lagoon, one of the most, if not the most beautiful in the world it is said. The plane lands on a motu and you are then taken by boat to the main island. We stayed in the Four Seasons Bora Bora hotel, no, only joking, we stayed in a cute little apartment right on the waterfront with a little jetty in front where Alain enjoyed throwing breadcrumbs to the colourful fish who show themselves as soon as there is food on the go. We cycled to the famous Matira beach where a heavy shower came on just after we arrived. Thankfully we were able to have a coffee and shelter at the nearby snack until it was over. The beach is very beautiful with colours which varied all the time we were there depending on the colour of the sky which was first stormy and then sunny. I sat and contemplated most of the afternoon while the boys enjoyed snorkelling and spotting more rays. I hope you will enjoy the photos just as much as I enjoyed sitting soaking up all the beauty of my surroundings.
