Après le soleil d'El Chalten et un petit saut en avion, nous voilà sous la pluie à Buenos Aires. Malheureusement nos 4 jours passés dans la capitale argentine ont été........mouillés !
Cela ne nous a quand-même pas empêche d'aimer cette ville, ses quartiers sympas dont San Telmo où nous logions, sa bonne bouffe dont l'excellente viande qu'Alain attendait depuis longtemps ! et le bon vin que nous avons aussi apprécié !
Avec une journée tango nous étions bien dans l'ambiance de la ville ou cette danse est partout. D'abord une leçon de tango en famille, vraiment sympa - les garçons se sont éclatés et d'ailleurs ce sont eux qui étaient les meilleurs ! Et spectacle le soir dans un joli théâtre : danse, musique et chant, ce qui nous a permis d'apprécier toutes les facettes de cet art passionné et passionnant.
Le lendemain nous avons côtoyé l'autre passion des argentins - le foot. Visite au quartier populaire de La Boca où les immigrés italiens étaient concentrés lors de leur arrivée en Argentine, et au musée du stade mythique des Boca Juniors, la "Bombonera" où Maradonna a joué dans sa jeunesse. Un mot est affiché interdisant l'entrée au musée aux personnes portant les couleurs d'une équipe autre que Boca ! Un bon déjeuner bien typique, avec un bol de lentilles pour nous réchauffer, au petit marché couvert du quartier, loin des restos pour touristes, et un café avec un monsieur d'un certain âge, trop content de parler à des français car son père était venu de France jeune - il nous a semblé quand-même être dans le "vrai" de ce quartier un peu tape à l’œil pour touristes.
Oui, Buenos Aires, avec son subtil mélange d'Europe et Amérique du Sud, nous a bien plu, une ville pour y passer du temps.
After sunny El Chalten, and a hop on a plane, here we are in rainy Buenos Aires ! Unfortunately our 4 days spent in the Argentinian capital were ...........wet.
Thankfully the rain did not stop us from liking this city with its lively districts including San Telmo where our hotel was, its tasty food and excellent meat which Alain had been long awaiting, as well as some good wine which was well appreciated !
With a "Tango Day" we were right into the swing of the city where this dance is everywhere. First of all a family lesson which was great fun, the boys really enjoyed it and indeed they were better than us ! Then in the evening a tango show in a lovely theatre, with dance, music and song, which allowed us to appreciate all facets of this passionate and fascinating art.
Next day was "Football Day", one of Argentina's other great passions. A visit to the popular district of La Boca where all the Italian immigrants used to live upon their arrival in Argentina, and to the museum at the mythical Boca Juniors stadium "La Bombonera" where Maradonna played in his youth. A note is posted at the museum entrance forbidding any person dressed in the colours of any other team than the Boca to enter ! A filling lunch of hot steaming lentils at the local covered market, far from the tourist restaurants, and a cup of coffee with a man chuffed to speak to some French people as his father had come to Argentina from France in his youth - despite the tourist tack in the area we felt that we did get into the real feel of the district.
Yes, we very much enjoyed Buenos Aires with its subtle mix of Europe and South America, a city to spend some time in.
