Jodhpur, Ali Baba and the fort

We only spent a night in Jodhpur, but had the whole of the next day before our night train to Jaisalmer. Although Jodhpur is a hustly, bustly, noisy city we liked the atmosphere of the markets and bazars squashed away in the tiny streets. However what really made it for us were two things :

1. Our hang out at the Royal Heritage Guest House with our hosts and friends Ali Baba (excellent cook & joker), and Raghu - on the relaxing rooftop terrace with an amazing view of the fort.
2. Our visit to the Mehrangarh Fort - a fabulous step back in time to the period of the Maharajahs and Maharanis with great collections of elephant seats (howdahs), palaquins, paintings, arms etc.

Quel fabuleux endroit !

  1. What ? We haven't heard anything from you since last Wednesday, worried sick in case something was wrong, and you're sitting on a roof ? Do you think you're over there to enjoy yourselves ? Us followers are hungry for information you know. Jeez ! ! (Nice photos, though. In fact, excellent. Thank you).
