An Invitation to Lunch - Une Invitation à Déjeuner


Ca vous est déjà arrivé de vous faire inviter à déjeuner dans un pays étranger et par de parfaits inconnus ? Et bien nous oui !
Hier matin nous voilà partis de Bundi dans le train, direction Udaipur, notre prochaine étape.
Tant bien que mal nous avons réussi à trouver des places, et nous nous sommes installés pour les deux heures et demi de voyage.
Pendant le trajet nous avons sympathisé avec un jeune couple et deux petits garçons de retour d'un weekend de vacances dans une autre région de l'Inde et quand l'heure est arrivée de descendre du train pour prendre la connexion ils nous ont très gentiment invité à manger chez eux !
Merci donc à Arvind, Daya, Anshuman, Atharva et leur ami Ranveer pour leur hospitalité et le délicieux repas préparé par Daya, 100% fait maison ! Nous l'avons regardé faire les chapatis (les galettes indiennes), elle a vraiment le coup, d'abord pour étaler la pâte et ensuite pour les faire cuire.
Nous avons passé un moment très sympathique et complètement inattendu en leur compagnie - un exemple de la gentillesse du peuple indienne !

Have you ever been invited to lunch in a foreign country by complete strangers ? We have !
Yesterday morning we left Bundi by train heading to our next stop Udaipur. We managed to squash ourselves into the train and settled for the 2.1/2 hour journey. While trundling along we got speaking to a young couple with two little boys and when the time came to get off the train they very kindly invited us to their house for lunch !
A big thank you to Arvind, Daya, Anshuman, Atharva and their friend Ranveer for their hospitality and the delicious home made meal prepared by Daya. We watched her preparing the chapatis with a very expert hand. We spent a very pleasant and totally unexpected moment in their company - proof of the kindness and warmth of the Indian people.
